Clever… but a Whopper of an Advertising Error

Cute, maybe even funny… but does it make you WANT TO BUY THE PRODUCT... eat a Whopper… or just to talk about how clever the commercial is?

There’s nothing wrong with your advertising being entertaining… as long as you don’t lose sight of the fact that it’s #1 goal is to make people WANT TO BUY WHAT YOU’RE SELLING… not just chuckle and chat about your cleverness. Your goal is not to impress other marketers. It’s not to make people say, “Wow… they have SUCH a clever ad agency!”

You want them to say, “That looks delicious… I want one!” and then ultimately motivate them to go buy the thing.

It’s great if it makes you FEEL good… but it should ALSO cause you to go through their drive through… hand them your cash… and ultimately stuff a whopper in your mouth.
